Most of our roses are budded onto R. Multiflora rootstock which is happiest in acid clay based soils. Some are also grown on their own roots as cuttings which many gardeners are happy to plant and be a little patient whilst they develop. It may be asking a lot for a cutting grown rose to be planted in an existing rose garden where it may be swamped by nearby mature rose plants. We are endeavoring to supply a very large number of cutting grown roses but it is proving a challenge, so patience may be required. After each description of the rose is an indication of whether the rose is available as a budded and/or cutting grown plant. There is always a shortage of large numbers of cuttings of each variety so please refrain from ordering cuttings for hedges as it will be unlikely that we will be able to supply them, unless you are wanting Carabella which we do grow hundreds of. The code O.F. or Modern is to help you with the prices of our roses. O.F.= old fashioned. PBR = Plant Breeders Rights. |
